How do four strangers become a team?

Sitting together for the first time as four distinct individuals, we found that we had been thrust together to make up a University of Phoenix Learning Team for Communications 515. For all intense and purposes, four strangers with varying backgrounds, ranging in age from 22 to 36, with non-related undergraduate degrees, and dissimilar work experience, were told we needed to mesh into a single team. When do four strangers become a team? For our group, we sought out some commonalties, which turned out to be social and ultimately a perfect place to start. Relying on each of our unique perspectives, coupled with some reading each of us had completed, we came up with our definition of what a "team" is and what "conflict" is. Hence, we were ready to begin a paper on "Solving Learning Team Conflict."
