Working together to meet common objectives and goals

Teams must address important issues in order to produce effective results. According to Paul Pholman from the Poytner Institute, the major sources of team conflicts in team building are lack of communication, planning methods, skills purpose, responsibilities, relationships, and leadership. Of all the major issues facing a learning team, the most critical obstacle will be communication. Communication is a multi-dimensional media, which assumes multiple shapes, tones and inflections. These attributes are verbal, non-verbal or in written form. A group must first create the communication process that all members can agree upon and understand. As such, each team member's communication style will need identification in order to establish problem-solving and planning methods to outline any issues with other team members.
